Residency: Intec, dedkob.com
During the early nineties dj Lowdown started to spin the decks. His first residency was at the semi-legendary Germinal club. In Belgium these nights were for many the first knowledge of electronic music. New demands came quickly, Lowdown started to spin great underground nights at caves, castles and mine-buildings.
During those early days he also started with his own party concept 'Illtown'. These famous parties bring not only techno but also house, drum and bass/jungle and breakbeat. ëIlltowní also became the name of Lowdownís label (with releases from ao Locutus, Sonic Spasm and himself). Though for several practical reasons the name changed to 'Dedkob'. The first release was a various artists project (tracks from Xentrix and JLK; David Dummy and Sierra Sam; S-Project aka Stanny Franssen and of course Lowdown). This release made it to no2 in Dave Clarkeís charts.
Spinning the decks you can find Lowdown his style going from tek-house to the dark stuff, but always funky. Just rocking the place with the right amount of tribal percussion. So this boy lightens up your floor.
Lowdown Now also plays under his alter ego 'Bongo Bash' were he can explore his love/passion for Brazilian and Latin Music. A Bongo Bashers EP was released in April distributed worldwide by Triple Vision/Neuton. Check it out! As Bongo Bash he is now resident @ the 'Bonanza' parties from Naranja and the 'Brazilian Beats' parties from Mosquito. Once a year he joins the BoardX crew to 'Rock The Coole Scheisse' in Spain ;)
Looking at his productions you see his variety. No style is avoided, he takes on his electro shoes, his funky techno boots and recently started a new hiphop/triphop project. Together with Stanny Franssen a dynamic duo is formed with the focus on very funky, groovy tunes. Their first release got straight to the Intec stamp (2003). Two new epís are set to be released, the first on Rotation, the second one on Stanny's own Genetic Recordings. More corporations got created for example with Adam Jay ('Rampage' EP), Xentrix, etc...
